Plot 30

an urban co-op garden adventure

More prep

on May 8, 2012

A few things I forgot to mention in my earlier post today:

Plot 30 will now be represented at every Community Garden monthly meeting – thanks to all the volunteers. I’ll post the schedule tomorrow.

Belinda will be looking for a plank or some tiles for us to place mid-garden so that we have a place to work from inside the plot instead of tramping on seeded/planted areas.

Amanda took home some herbs, pots, and soil today – cheers!

We still have a few more plants to seed for transplanting later – anyone interested? I have all the stuff in my car: basil and zucchini seeds plus soil and pots.

Who has the cilantro seeds?

The rest of the seeds we can plant directly in the garden: carots and beets now, and onions and beans when the soil is warm.

I also purchased kale plants and some flowers. The tomatoes and peppers we can buy in a few weeks.

Oh, and apparently sweet and hot peppers aren’t supposed to be planted near eachother. Something about cross pollination. Has anyone had any experience with this? Does anyone object to growing sweet and spicy peppers?!

Fingers crossed for a dry, sunny day tomorrow!
